"The Memory String" by Eve Bunting is about a girl who is going to be starting school. She wants the other children to like her and to make a good impression. She wakes up with a Bad Case of Stripes all over her face. She goes to school and becomes a distraction for the other students. She eventually becomes cured but in being cured she learns a valuable lesson about herself. I recommend this book because it is an easy read that teaches children and adults a valuable lesson. It is alright to be happy with yourself and who you are.

"Ish" as Mrs. Figueroa's Fave
"Ish" by Peter R. Reynolds
This book is about a boy names Ramon who loves to draw. He draws all the time and one day his brother comes in and sees his drawings. His brother says something to him and then Ramon becomes sad. His sister comes up with a plan to make him happy again.
I recommend this book because it makes me feel happy inside because it's always ok to be just who we are and none of us have to be perfect.

"The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs" as Mrs. Mitchell's Fave
"The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs" by Jon Scieska
Who's says there's only one side to a story? Of course not, there is ALWAYS two sides, a different perspective. This hysterical book is all about the poor, poor wolf and his explanation how things happened through his lenses!

"The Great Kapok Tree: A Tale of The Amazon Rain Forest" as Mrs. Machado's Fave
"The Great Kapok Tree: A Tale of The Amazon Rain Forest" by Lynne Cherry
This book is about the Amazon rain forest and all of the creatures who depend on it as a life source. Each animal will walk up to the young man and try to convince him not chop down the large tree. It's a beautiful book with colorful, realistic illustrations and a great message about the importance to save the rain forest from destruction. I recommend this book to anyone who loves nature and wants to learn more about the beauty of the Brazilian rain forest.

"The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig" as Mrs. Freeman's Fave
I love the twist in the story that used to be The Three Little Pigs. Try as he may, the Big Bad Pig cannot find enough "badness" to overcome the three little wolves. My favorite part is the very surprising ending!

"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" as Mrs. Malinauskas's Fave
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" by Dr. Seuss
My favorite children’s book is Dr. Seuss’s, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year, but this book demonstrates how each of us is capable of love. And no matter what our differences, we can all be accepting of each other. I recommend this book because it is entertaining and heartwarming!
