Alana's Fave "John Henry"

John Henry by Julius Lester is an historical book that is fiction. It's about John Henry's life and his music. At the end his big heart burst after hammering so long and so hard.

You can go to the white house and at the top of the building lay John Henry. He used whale bones to hammer and play music. I recomend this book because John Henry was a leader, bold but not thundering and standing up for what he believes. I think we should look up to John Henry. He even has a rainbow song.

In this fun and musical tale, there is a lot to learn. Even if you don't leap out of your mom's arms and start growing.
